“I had a few options for hospitals, but I chose CHA HPMC because I felt safer coming to the States for my surgery,” said Guam native, Carmelita Gange.

Carmelita came to CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center (CHA HPMC) as a part of the Guam International Medical Referral Program here at CHA HPMC. Carmelita was operated on and treated for a full hysterectomy.

“I had never met the doctor but I’ll tell you that when I first met her she put all my fears at ease. I was so scared, but she made me feel so comfortable and I am so happy she did my procedure. If it weren’t for her, I think my life right now would be very different.” Carmelita said.

In recounting her experience, Carmelita acknowledged how accommodating and patient all the staff were. From the nurses, to the physicians, to the front desk staff, Carmelita expressed true gratitude for the compassion and grace that was shown to her during a challenging time in her life.

“Anyone who needs the same procedure, or something similar, I recommend they come to CHA HPMC. Everyone was very patient and helpful. I felt really good with my experience here at this hospital,” said Carmelita.

The Guam International Medical Referral Program offers Guam residents the opportunity to seek medical care at our Los Angeles facilities. This all-inclusive program aims to give the people of Guam and the surrounding Micronesian islands access to the quality medical care offered at CHA HPMC.
