Robert Allen
President & CEO, CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center
Robert Allen currently serves as the Global Group CEO at CHA Health Systems-Overseeing CHA U.S. and global operations, and CEO of CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center. Allen rejoined CHS during a period of growth and development as the company embarks on its more than $400 million master plan expansion of the CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center campus. Part of this expansion will include the construction of a new 176,000 square foot, 562-space parking structure and a new five-story patient tower anchored by a new Emergency Department. Allen is responsible for overseeing the growth and synthesis of global healthcare and bio-tech assets, including CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in the U.S. to achieve strategic objectives.
Allen has more than 25 years of executive level experience in both the for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare sectors throughout Southern California. He possesses an extensive background in healthcare, including financial expertise as well as a deep knowledge in hospital operations, service line development, cost management systems, and contracting and government reimbursement programs. He has orchestrated several hospital turnarounds and has successfully entered the risk side of the business by engaging in capitation pools at multiple hospitals.
Prior to joining CHA Health Systems, Bob served as CFO of a large academic medical center where he orchestrated a $70 million turn-around. He has also held executive financial leadership roles at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, CHA Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, Sherman Oaks Hospital, Granada Hills Hospital, the former Verdugo Hills Hospital and within Dignity Health. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Cal State University, Northridge, and a master’s degree in business administration from Pepperdine University.
