At Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, we are committed to providing quality, compassionate care that addresses the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of our patients.

Our multi-lingual team of chaplains, both ordained and lay, represents various faith backgrounds including Catholic and Protestant. In addition to staff chaplains, Eucharist Ministers spend time with patients who wish to share their spiritual reflections and concerns. Together, these caring individuals reflect the rich ethnic diversity of our city while being sensitive to the cultural differences of our patients and their families.

The sacraments of Holy Communion, Baptism, Reconciliation and Anointing are provided upon request. Liturgy is celebrated Sunday through Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the hospital chapel. This service is also available for viewing in patient rooms via closed circuit television.

In addition to spiritual care services, hospital chaplains are available to help patients understand the legal provisions associated with Advance Directives. These binding legal documents are used to inform health care providers, as well as family members, of an individual’s health care requests in the event they are unable to speak for themselves.

A representative of the Spiritual Care department is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide pastoral counseling, support and prayer to patients, their families and our staff.
