Institute for Maternal Fetal Health Phone: (323) 361-6074 or (800) 687-2229 Web: www.maternal-fetalhealth.com The Institute for Maternal-Fetal Health (IMFH) located at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center is a collaborative effort between the medical center, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the University of Southern California to provide comprehensive high risk obstetrics and specialized, minimally invasive fetal therapy services. The Institute’s multidisciplinary team of core physicians covers such specialties as Obstetrics and Gynecology, Maternal and Fetal Health, Neonatal Medicine, Pediatrics, Medical Genetics, Pediatric Cardiology and Radiology. These physicians, along with nurses, counselors and researchers, work in concert to care for women and their unborn babies throughout the pregnancy, birth and neonatal periods. Specialized technology such as 3-D and 4-D ultrasound enables physicians to determine such things as the exact number of fetuses a woman is carrying, fetal size, weight and gestational age, location of the placenta, appearance of the cervix, amount of amniotic fluid and abnormalities including developmental abnormalities and abnormalities of the uterus and ovaries. Physician referral is not required to be seen by specialists at the IMFH. Most new patients are seen after routine tests have indicated a potential problem with their unborn fetus. A partnership with Stillpoint Resources gives patients and their families access to complimentary support and education services. High risk OB/prenatal diagnostic services include: - Genetic Counseling
- High Resolution Ultrasound (3D and 4D)
- Ultrafast MRI
- Chorionic Villus Sampling
- Amniocentesis
Fetal therapy services include: - Fetal Blood Sampling
- Fetal Medical Therapy
- Fetal Transfusion
- Minimally Invasive Fetal Surgery
