The Maternity Services department at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center provides a wide range of procedures, surgical and non-surgical, specific to women and women’s health issues. From labor and delivery to hysterectomy and tubal ligation services, our team of highly skilled physicians and nurses work together to care for female patients.

Having a baby is an exciting time in a woman’s life. Since every birth is a unique experience, our board-certified obstetricians, perinatologists, neonatologists, anesthesiologists and highly skilled, compassionate nurses are prepared to care for some of the most complex pregnancies and deliveries.

Experienced staff and physicians coupled with the latest medical technology ensure the best possible outcomes for mother and baby throughout the labor, delivery and recovery process. For instance, a new state-of-the-art fetal monitoring system enables us to immediately identify problems or complications that may occur during labor and delivery. In addition, we work closely with the Institute for Maternal-Fetal Health at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center to further safeguard babies in the womb.

To help patients prepare for labor and delivery as well as life after the birth of a baby, we offer a full complement of educational programs including childbirth education, parenting classes, sibling classes and lactation counseling for breastfeeding moms.

As a teaching hospital, Hollywood Presbyterian maintains an OB Residency Program through the University of Southern California. These resident physicians receive hands-on experience in the field of obstetrics by working directly with physicians and nurses in the Maternity Services department.

Women planning to deliver at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center are encouraged to pre-register at the OB Admitting desk before their due date. Doing so allows for a quicker, simpler check-in.

OB patients will check in at the OB department where they will be assessed by a triage nurse and either held for observation or admitted and transferred to a labor and delivery room.
