 The Critical Care Training Program 2009, available as a series or individual classes, focuses on the fundamentals, providing the
theoretical foundation necessary to care for critically ill patients.
First released in 2002 and in use by more than 700 hospitals in
the United States and Canada, this course should be a part of
every new critical care nurse’s orientation. The program includes 10 learning modules organized using a
body systems approach. Body system modules are comprised
of multiple lessons that provide in-depth content, including a
detailed review of anatomy and physiology. Prerequisite for this course is ECG interpretation and clinical

Guest Lecturer: Maureen Lucey, RN, BSN, CCRN. Maureen Lucey obtained a BSN in nursing from California State University, Long Beach in 1974. Ms. Lucey has excelled as a critical care nurse for over 30 years, earning and maintaining her credential as a CCRN since 1976. Maureen Lucey became a clinical educator in 1990, developing and teaching courses involving critical care and related topics. She currently works as a consultant who is often utilized as the nurse expert in various legal cases involving the practice of critical care nursing.
