Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers / Renewal

Course Description:
This course is designed to prepare the healthcare professional in Basic Life Support according to the American Heart Association guidelines. Review of materials, skills stations and written test must be completed.

Requirements:

• Renewal participants must have a current BLS card and must bring card to class.
• BLS for Healthcare providers book/CD (2006 Version) should be obtained and reviewed prior to attending class. BLS books may be purchased online at http://aha.channing-bete.com or at http://www.eworldpoint.com. Books are also available for purchase from California School of Health Sciences at http://www.hprovider.com or on the day of the class (you MUST bring cash or check only).
• Participants are required to bring the BLS book to attend the class.

• HPMC Employees – No charge if required by dept/unit. ** (Director signature required). Obtain the Director Approval Form from the Education Department (or download it here) and submit it either before or on the date of class. Attendance will not be permitted without a signed approval form.
